.{. A City in Egypt, October 2o12 .}.
The murmur of Arabic bartering and conversations created an almost rhythmic background track to Jonas Monea's present adventure. He was wrapped up in traditional local clothing, from head to toe (including his face), because it would cover up the clothing he'd worn out of his home, through the airport, and finally off the airplane. The way Jonas typically dressed was not widely accepted at home, he figured it almost definitely would cause him trouble here, in a country like Egypt was nowadays.
Still, that didn't keep Jonas Monea from both fulfilling his dreams and his sense of fashion. He grew up idolizing both the black-drenched goths, and his father's expeditions to all kinds of foreign, ancient cultures. Egypt, however, with it's intricate mythos and wild explanations for creations, as well as the soap opera-esque way the deities all interacted with each other, had always been Jonas' favorite.
Now, finally, he was wandering the streets of Egypt, and from under the sweltering safety of his linen garbs, he could see this new world, but the new world could not see him. This was a level of anonymity that Jonas found he deeply enjoyed.
It would be nice, to go on some kind of epic adventure in Egypt, but, well... More than likely, he'd just do some tours, help out with the dig, and go home a little more tan and a lot more experienced with the local culture.
All that was left to do, was to meet up with that friend of his father's friend, and start on the expedition. If only... if only he had any idea where to start looking!
After glancing back and forth at many of the passers-by in the street, Jonas picked one at random, and tugged lightly on his arm. "Excuse me, sir," he began, in coherent, though somewhat haphazard Arabic, "can you direct me to the museum?"
If this guy didn't know, then Jonas figured he'd just ask a couple more people, and, if that brought him no luck, well... There was probably an embassy around here somewhere!
