Beyond the Earth and Under the Sky
Long ago, there were two races residing on earth, gods and demons. Gods were beautiful beings, most of them with silvery hair of all lengths and light colored eyes; some however, came to believe other things and turned into demons. When that happened their hair and eyes turned dark and they became tainted with ill will and evil, thus exiled from the sky world that the gods resided in. Instead of remaining on the earth’s surface the gods turned demon escaped down into the earth’s core and hid there. The gods soon came to believe that the traitors of their race vanished and will never return.
After a while the gods became bored with the barren land that was the earth’s surface, so they created plants from the strands of silvery hair they shed. Then they created animals to eat those plants such as; deer, rabbits, and other gentle creatures. They however never went down to the earth; it was only a place to watch once in a while.
The demons still sore that the gods threw them out of the sky world decided to create creatures that would eat the animals the gods created such as; wolves, bears, tigers, and other meat eaters. If there were too many meat eaters then they would run out of food and all die out, but if there were too many plant eaters they would run out of food and die out. So it was all in balance, except for one thing, there was nothing to kill the meat eaters.
Determined to create a creature that the demons couldn’t destroy with a creation of their own and to put an ultimate balance to the world, the gods created humans. Though the gods were not aware of their flaw in the design of man and created the beings anyway in the image of themselves.
Knowing about the creation of humans for a while, the demons began to rise back onto earth in the form of animals looking to deceive the humans. Some humans didn’t fall for the demon tricks, but others fell so far that they too would turn into demons.
This struggle for the power over humans continued for thousands of years. Soon the gods became uninterested to what the demons did to the humans and no longer tried to influence them to do good.
Demons continued to cause chaos until the humans began to forget about the gods and demons. Both races began to lose their privilege to go upon earth. After a while only a few traveled to the earth to try and influence the humans and even so they never showed themselves.
That is until one demon got bored with the whole not showing himself bit.
He was known commonly as Rakami, though that wasn’t his truest name. When he came upon earth’s surface he took a material form. His long black hair cascade over his shoulders and down his back as his crimson eyes searched the area. The only thing that didn’t look human were his long pointed ears and his unnaturally blood red eyes.
Rakami didn’t take too long to find someone to bother, though he decided not to show himself completely just yet. He followed the human down the path to his house quietly in the shadows.
The human, Atsuro, didn’t seem to notice he was being followed. He entered his home, the demon following close behind still without the human knowing. Rakami waited until it was quiet and Atsuro was half asleep to even make an appearance.
Atsuro’s soft brown hair fanned over the pillow in a way that made him look beautiful as he slept. It wasn’t too unheard of for a demon to be attracted to another of the same gender, but to a human on the other hand...that was looked down upon, even in what is now known as the demon world.
Rakami stood there until Atsuro awakened, the humans brown eyes focused on the demon standing next to his bed before an ear splitting scream tore from his throat. Quickly covering the human’s mouth Rakami looked around franticly, he then realized that this human lived alone and pretty much in the middle of nowhere.
“Ok...I’m going to move my hand” the demon said in a quiet voice despite that fact that it wouldn’t matter if he yelled. “Don’t scream ok?” he asked. After the human nodded he slowly removed his hand.
Atsuro shivered involuntarily as he stared up and the intruder “W-who are you?” he asked in a soft scared voice.
The demon thought for a moment before he decided to just tell him name, it’s not like it would hurt anyone “My name is Rakami” he said smirking.
“Kami? As in a God?!” Atsuro exclaimed with his eyes wide.
“Uh....sure” the demon adverted his eyes; this was going to be way too easy.
Rakami stayed around the human for a few weeks causing trouble, but at the same time he was becoming attached to Atsuro. The demon had told Atsuro before that he couldn’t tell anyone about him, if he did Rakami would have to leave forever. All was well until one day Atsuro came home late and injured.
After taking care of Atsuro’s wounds Rakami asked him what happened. Atsuro was very hesitant when he spoke, but he told the demon none the less.
“Someone saw me with you, they were spying on me.” He paused as he looked away “They forced me to tell them who you are...what you are.” Atsuro’s voice shook slightly as he told Rakami the details.
Rakami was outraged, not only by the fact that he beat his Atsuro, but that fact that they forced him to tell. The demon looked away from the other “I have something I need to tell you” he stood from where he was kneeling “I still have to leave you, people now know about me...but...” he turned his back to the human “I have to tell you...I’m not really a god...I’m a demon” with that reviled he took one last look at a very shocked Atsuro before he vanished returning back to the demon world.
Atsuro never grew to hate Rakami, but he did grow insane. He never left his home in hopes that the demon would one day return. He even gone so far as to try a summon Rakami from the demon world. Atsuro failed each time; he started to think that he returned and would talk to nothing. Atsuro became a very sad existence.
Rakami never knew about what happened to the human he stayed with when he was on earth. Word about a human that acted unnatural traveled to even the demon world; it went down that Atsuro was the first human to ever go insane.
